Participate in the world community

Colleges, universities, and other academic institutions are increasingly finding that study tours are an integral component to a complete educational experience. Engagement with other cultures, languages, artistic and architectural masterpieces, deepens and broadens one's humanity, helps to give greater definition to one's own cultural and historical particularity, and prepares one to participate in the world community.

Short intensive study tours accommodate traditional age students as well as graduate students, adult learners, and those in professional education programs (such as theology/ministry, architectural design, management, and public/foreign policy) who do not ordinarily have access to semester-long study abroad programs. Study tours afford opportunity to continue earning academic credit in a relaxed and non-traditional learning environment.

We offer a full range of services to study abroad and international education offices, to faculty who organize study tours, and departments seeking to add international learning experiences to their offerings.

Illume collaborates with scholars/administrators to design and facilitate faculty development seminars in a variety of destinations, venues and around various academic disciplines. Learn more

Services to professors who organize study tours include:

In having us professionally manage your program, you have the ease of mind in knowing that all aspects of your program are being coordinated and confirmed by your local on-site manager, that he/she will help access emergency services should one of your participants become ill or injured and, should there be any disruption due to weather or other unforeseen events, we will reconfigure and reconfirm services for you so that you can concentrate on the learning experiences of your group rather than having to reconfirm arrangements.

We have local teams and partners in European and Mediterranean countries, in Asia, Africa & Latin America. We have expertise working with religious studies, classical studies, liberal studies, international business, health care ethics, art history, foreign language, history, literature, and other disciplines in the humanities.
